Well another New Year has arrived, so welcome to 2019. With the New Year came snow. To be totally honest, I hate snow. It’s cold, wet and makes people drive like idiots.
Sometimes snow can be a beautiful thing though, like it was this morning. Let’s face it, I am in Wisconsin, it’s New Years Day which means that most of the population in my state are probably hung over and not moving today. Those conditions are perfect for getting out on the mostly empty roads and find some nice winter photos. Today the fresh snowfall was sticking to trees and everything else. Perfect if you can find the right spot to shoot.
Snow is a difficult thing to photograph, I have problems with it just like everyone else. Cameras seem to think that it is grey in color and the white just doesn’t want to pop out without over exposure. Good thing about shooting in RAW format, it can be easier to get rid of the grey in Light Room.
Just like all of my photos, I adjusted them in Light Room to duplicate what my eyes saw. Just like my other photos, they may not be “technically correct” but I believe the world should see what I saw, or what you saw, not what the world interprets to be correct.
With that here are a couple of snow covered images for your viewing enjoyment. I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year and manages to show the world what they see in their own way.

Magical day, beautiful photos! As the day draws to an end here in the shelter of the wood, a blanket of snow still clings to each branch and twig. It is truly a fitting scene for the first day of the year.
Thanks you Scout, the statement is very true.
You are welcome…..
